North Porch Asks for Support

North Porch Women and Infants’ Centers has put out a specific request for baby wipes and volunteers at its Newark center at 24 Rector Street.

North Porch, which is supported by the Diocese of Newark, says it needs donations of other baby and toddler care goods and can use volunteers at its other centers, as well. But the organization says the needs in Newark are particularly acute.

Besides Newark, the group has centers in Paterson, Dover, Wharton, Hackensack, and Hackettstown. North Porch is asking congregations to collect 100 packets of baby wipes for the Newark Center during November. Volunteers would work for two hours a month helping at the Newark Center.

The Center Coordinator works in Newark are between 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The organization says it welcomes volunteer help during those hours. Jobs for volunteers might include sorting supplies for distribution.
