Baprisms & Confirmation
Baptism
Holy Baptism is the sacrament by which we are joined to Christ and welcomed into the household of God. Through water and the Holy Spirit, we are given new life, forgiven, and marked as Christ's own forever.
At St. John's, we rejoice in welcoming all who seek God. Whether for yourself or for your child, you are warmly invited to begin or continue your life in Christ with us.
Baptisms are celebrated as part of our public worship, most often on major feast days (such as Easter, Pentecost, All Saints', and the Baptism of our Lord). Other dates can sometimes be arranged.
In the weeks before baptism, you will meet with the priest to walk through the service and reflect on the meaning of this sacrament.

Confirmation
Confirmation is the sacramental rite in which we make a mature commitment to Christ and receive strength from the Holy Spirit through the laying on of hands by the bishop.
If you are in eighth grade or older and feel ready to claim your faith as your own, you are warmly invited to prepare for confirmation at St. John’s.
Preparation is a year long journey. Alongside others on the same path, you will meet regularly with the priest to explore Christianity and the Episcopal Church more deeply, and to reflect on your own life in Christ.
Confirmations take place during the season of Easter at churches throughout the diocese.
If you have already been confirmed in another Christian tradition (such as Roman Catholic or Lutheran), you may be received into the Episcopal Church in a similar rite.
To learn more, please contact the Parish Office—or come and worship with us and speak with our priest.
